Boozy Chicken Fingers: Whisky On The Pops Chicken Tenders Recipe with A Sweet & Smoky Whisky Sauce

This mouthwatering recipe requires NO deep-frying - just pop them in the oven and they're good to go. Perfect for a delicious, crunchy, boozy snack for game day, or whatever the occasion. WHISKY ON THE POPS TENDERS INGREDIENTS: 
  • 1 Pound of skinless, boneless chicken breast cut into long medium cutlets 
  • 3 Cups of lightly minced Eatable Whisky on the Pops Popcorn
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • ¼ Cup of Oil  
  • ¼ Cup of Cornstarch 
  • 1 Teaspoon of Salt 
  • ¾ Teaspoon Paprika 
  • ¼ Teaspoon Black Pepper 
SWEET AND SMOKEY WHISKY DRIZZLE INGREDIENTS: 
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar 
  • ½ Cup Jack Daniels Whiskey 
  • ½ Cup Soy Sauce 
  • ½ Cup Ketchup from Good Food For Good 
  • ¼ Cup Honey from Drizzle 
  • 1 Teaspoon of Liquid Smoke 
  • 1 Tablespoon of Sriracha Hot Sauce 
  • 1 Tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar 
  • 3-4 Cloves of Chopped Garlic 
 

WHISKY ON THE POPS CHICKEN TENDERS RECIPE STEPS:

STEP #1 – Gather all of your ingredients - corn starch, salt, paprika, black pepper, lightly minced popcorn and chicken

STEP #2 – Add your chicken to a large mixing bowl and add in your corn starch, salt, paprika and black pepper

STEP #3 – Add your eggs to the meat mixture ensuring all sides of the chicken cutlets are covered thoroughly in eggs

STEP #4 – Roll and coat your chicken cutlets onto the lightly minced Whisky On The Pops popcorn ensuring all sides are covered generously

STEP #5 – Place your tenders on your air fryer basket or baking tray. Set the air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and preheat for 5 minutes before putting your tenders in. Cook in medium sized batches for about 10-15 minutes. Flip once after 5-6 minutes to ensure even browning on both sides of tenders.
NOTE: (Do not skip flipping your tenders, if not flipped it could result in the popcorn burning on one side)

SWEET AND SMOKEY WHISKY DRIZZLE STEPS: 

STEP #6 - Gather all of your ingredients – brown sugar, Jack Daniel’s, soy sauce, ketchup, honey, liquid smoke, sriracha hot sauce, apple cider vinegar and your chopped garlic

STEP #7 - Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl - your sauce is ready! If you'd like non-alcoholic version (we understand!), feel free to remove the whisky from the sauce, making this a perfect meal for the entire family. Our popcorn has virtually no alcohol content as it's cooked off in the cooking process.

BACK TO WHISKY ON THE POPS TENDERS:

STEP #8 – Remove tenders from the air fryer and let it sit for about 5 minutes to cool before serving
